He was born in Bursa in 1959. He attended Bursa Boys' High School for both middle and high school. He graduated from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1976-1982. He completed his compulsory service in Konya from 1982-1984, followed by military service. He then continued his specialization training and work as a specialist at Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital. He is married and has two children. He currently works as a neurosurgeon at Osmanoğlu Hospital.
